that makes it + 526 for the day.

Off to church for wed dinner for $12 and they even have a program for the kids after so my wife and I can go walk for about an hour.

didn't know you have your own journal. Good trading so far except for last month's drawdown.

I'm going thru the worst drawdown ever in a long time myself. October so far has been murderous. was up about 88k for the year until the past 3 weeks - now I'm only up 30k and it's hurting...

Anyways, looking forward to your posts and constant betterment...

sorry for being so noisy but just liked to share with u some of my night-mares in trading thru the years...

in the beginning i made lots of money and i loss it all (about 1.5 million) ... i was so afraid of trading then and hired "Professional" to trade for me ... I had 3 brokers who traded for me and i gave them 30% of my profits ... they made about 200k for me, so i gave them 60k on top of their usual trading comissions and they loved me. .. of course vey soon ... they loss the 200k profit and my initial capital of 120k ... so i had to say bye to them ... till now they still call me up vey often wanted to trade for me ... but i have changed ...i don't need the"high" n "low" everyday ...

i trade only once in a "blue-moon" ... After Sept 11 ... the market crushed ... i bought good company shares and holded for about 2 year ... I made about 300k and stop- trading ... the Iraq war ... market down again ... i went in to buy good company shares holded till last year ... made about 600k and stop ...lehman went down and i bought some shares and made about 100k within two days and stop ... one business guy in singapore made about 7 millions with lehman within two days and donated all the 7 millions away to LKY charity to help poor student ...

now i am looking for good opportunity to buy again and hold for maybe 5 or more years... i think Sun Tze said " crisis is excellent opportunity ...he said something like that ... i can't really remember...

all my investment money is my hard-earned money ... so when the very first-time i loss my million ... i was bleeding terribly and paid my "tuition fees' with blood and tear :D i had to save my money for investment from g-zero again

the 2nd time I loss 320k (actual sum 120k) thru my 3 brokers ... i am ok and we parted in smiles and good hand-shakes ... i was only little worn-out because gosh ...i had to start to save my money from g-zero again n again... but then i learnt to enjoy life more ...

well P... life's is journey ... money comes ... money goes... n money will comes back again ... don't worry too much and don't be too upset ... because as we all know ... money is not everything lol :D
 
Getting cold up here is the artic circle known as wisconsin.

I traded the gap down last night in hong kong and did well. I think it was my best one day for the HSI. I only traded the AM session as it gets too late otherwise. (I dont count the HSI in my PnL here but I had gains of over US$1K)

I scalped the following.

QQQQ + 939
ebay + 1150
CBL + 219

I grabbed a bit more than a total scalp with ebay as I thought sub 14 was overdoing it by a long way in this short of period so I let that ride a bit.

CBL is a dog with fleas that I think we will see sub $8 in the near term. I am not holding anything overnight due to the crazyness of the market but I shorted it yesterday and again today by fading moves up.

The whole trading session today was very smooth and without anything remarkable. Waited for setups and for price action to come to me and really felt like I was in the zone. Of course I am still trading smaller size and most likely will for a while longer.

+ 2309 for the day
- 2829 for the week
+ 18337 for the month

Thanks for reading and for taking the time to make a post.

Yeah, last month was a bit trying but I do feel like I am a better trader now. I have already started to profit from the lessons so part of this months gains are a direct result of what I went through. In time I think I may get that and more back.

I have to agree that so far October has been so crazy. Your not alone in having trouble with this mess and I have been standing back and doing a lot more watching (in part due to last month)

At least your up as so many cant say the same thing. The amount you have in gains is very respectable as well.

I wish you the very best in this market and hopefully we can learn to maximize our gains before it goes away back to the "old" dullness as we know it will.

And where's the pikers kicking people when they are down? That's right, no where to be found. Typical.
 
long SPI @ 4003

ES HSI Nikkei and YM are all up and the SPI is down and they normally stay pretty much lock step.

They are not so out of tune that without any other reason it would be wise to go long but when adding in the beaten down ready for a dead cat bounce that the SPI is in it appears that it is offering a good risk to reward ratio

Yes and thanks. Starting to feel like I am getting back on my A game as well.

Not as easy to find trades for my normal style but I have been expanding my setups in a VERY conservative way with success.

I hope this trading environment is treating you well

Started out as a good day and became tough with a short on the QQQQ. Simply put I thought it would fall sooner then it did. I wanted to be out before the close in case of an EOD rally.

UAUA was not available to be shorted from IB so I wrote calls. I traded it twice and made money both times. First by covering the options and the second short by covering ITM call with buying the stock. IB ledger doesnt show the profit on the PnL so I am manually adding in $55 to my PnL to correct it (sold the options for 41 cents over the strike and bought the stock at 30 cents for about $66 minus commissions)
