Crazy day for DGW today

Due to executives that work at DGW having major issues with another firm they work at DGW was kicked and thrown into the mud. After being beat up and muddy it was then shot in the head and thrown out with the garbage as it appears it was stinking up the place for anyone who touched it. By the end of the day it lost over 40% of its value just by association and public relations which I would guess many shareholders were crossing their fingers would issue a press release saying “everything is ok” just sat this one out.

I started buying and trading a little early but I wasn’t getting greedy and with the large moves and large spreads I was able to ride it down pretty far and still take gains for most of the way down. It did reach a point though when I started to take some heat and had to cover some shares at a loss to the point I had a closed loss but unless it was going to totally implode I felt like almost always it would bounce. It did bounce and I was able to grab much of the move and able to take a fair gain with it. I watched it through the day looking for another chance to enter but in the words of Josey Wales it had “crazy eyes” so I am leaving it for tomorrow to see how it opens up and maybe take another shot with it.

Great day today trading overall. Best day of the month and ended strong as well.

JCP was my first trade of the day and while it started out as a good trade I came back and was caught with my hand in the cookie jar one to many times. Ended up stopping out and taking a loss. Not real proud of this trade but at least it didn’t leave a mark that would ruin the day.

AU was a late trade that I covered just after the close and a little to early as it fell big time after the release of a stock/bond offering

CREE was a double and then a triple 4bar + 234

GG was a short based on the daily TD line support being reached and then I was stopped out for a small gain. + 36

HPQ was a double 4bar that I should have held until the target was reached but closed out to soon due to what felt like I was getting a lot in relation to the overall move. While it should not have been a big winner it should have been more had I held. + 18

RDWR 6bar was the big winner today that I went back to get more a couple of times. The second time I shorted a bit early but did well just about every trade. This one was called out in the chat room and I almost missed it as I was away from my trading desk during the call out as someone was at my door that I was talking to. Glad I came back as soon as I did and I do wish I would have made even more it was a very nice gain overall. + 1702

THOR double 4bar that was my first real big winner of the day. Great trade that was called out in chat which shows how valuable the chat room was to me today. + 869

VECO was a double 4bar that turned into a triple and was one that I was able to call out in the chat room and turned into a really nice trade even if it did take a very long time. + 306

WDC options. mistake trade that I closed out as soon as I realized it was on the wrong account. – 6

First day over 3K in a while and second day of the new scanning computer up and rolling well. Looking forward to more trades as a result.

Not to bad of a day considering the lack of signals due to computer issues at the start of the day.

before the open lightning hit so close to the house that it sounded like it hit the house and one of my sons was standing in the open garage waiting for me and his coat location forgetting brother to go to the bus. While out there the lightning crashed and the thunder was super loud and had to easily be the loudest thunder my son has ever heard as after the “boom” I heard a huge “whaaaa aaaa aaaa aaa” and my son came running into the house and grabbed me with tears coming down. When I first heard the yelling I was worried that somehow he was hurt but when he ran inside I was actually feeling better that he was ok. It did hit close enough to set off the ground fault circuit breakers and several of my computers went dark.

My computers at my trading desk are on UPSs but two scanners are not and as a result by the time I had it all up and rolling again I missed out on the one really good trade I would have traded. I will have to consider getting all computers on UPSes but I am unsure how much that would have helped in light of the computers being in the basement and the breaker blew out.

I did manage to get a few trades done today and some are from the chat room and some from scanning.

G double 4bar that worked out great even if it did keep falling for the rest of the day. + 155

HOG + 13 stopped out from a scalp at the end of the day

PLL gap up + 44

SPN B6(old) + 35 I played this one way to safe due to not being able to find any news and started to “worry” about a buyout sending the stock higher andother 5+ points. I need to just focus on the signals and call it good.

SVNT single 4bar and then again when it made its final move higher. + 245

Slowest day of the week and in terms of gains much of it came in afterhours with RIMM

I traded RIMM firstly to the long side after the earnings and then to the short side when it appeared it went further than could be maintained after tomorrow. I ended up closing out because I ran out of time as I bought a new bed and needed to take care of that.

DE TDline daily break down that I traded several times but it moved so slow and within very tight ranges that I ended up trying to scalp it some to gain it and that was about making IB more money in commissions than anything else in the end. Maybe I made a few extra dollars but I will be looking to reshort it tomorrow if it stays in the short signal tomorrow. + 90

Tough day for a Friday when I perhaps should have taken it a bit slower.

I am working on a signal that has been in the works for about a year now in its latest form and I thought I would be able to start live trading it. I was wrong or at least I was wrong on the level of development I need for it. Based on a TDLine break I traded DE to the short side (I also looked at ASIA to the long side but picked DE…..). It was a crushing start and exiting at most points in the day would have been better than what I did with this one today. I am going back to sim trading it next week and will now wait until I have another 10 trades done and perhaps wait until I can just simply get it automated as the entry and exit rules are established.

Otherwise it was a good day and I had some trades that are my standard bread and butter that would have made today a good end to the week.

I am working on a new database for recording trades as well that I hope to have up and rolling soon.

I had a perfect day today. no mistakes, no errors, no trades that I am not proud of. I also made myself do 100 jumping jacks for making a trade yesterday that I should not have (it was a slight winner but not part of the plan)

+ 660 today trading but I thought of some quotes in the last few days and I wanted to put them out there for others to see.

Great day today with many signals and many almost signals. Nice to have the market moving higher again
