Weinstein Trading and Fading

Just two trades today

I also did short the Treasury 30 year Futures 118.50 Sept call option at 11/64s. I may add to this trade if the underlying moves higher tomorrow.

I did not short any of the gap ups I was following at the open as non of them fully qualified for me. My first trade was about an hour into the trading day with ANR and lasted almost an hour until I totally covered. I was able to get a full target gain with it was a very good trade from entry to exit.
ANR + 3090

I also had a trade with LNN today that worked out pretty well. I kept the size pretty small as it was a low volume stock with a larger price tag. I was able to short near the top of the move and held for a nice gain. I spent about an hour in this one as well.
LNN + 622

That was pretty much my whole day trading. I was able to get caught up with the WSJ and some other work that was needed to get done.

Just one trade today during the open

I traded ANF and that was my one and only trade for the day. Spent the rest of the day doing research and looking at setups.

Mostly traded to the long side today

Market was way down and it was hard to find anything that was up today. Once exception to the down rule today was with ALGN. Not only was it fighting the tide it did so very well. It was higher than 30% up at one point near the end of the day and even provided a limited signal that I exploited for some quick gains. I also traded CI to the short side but otherwise I was long in the other bigger trades.

RW I am happy to know that you are green for the month.Its really nice feeling.I am trying to put myself in the league of big winner/big hitters like RED INK,NEKE and RW. After 8 weeks of paper trading SPY option ,I got my first trade .Still very risky and ify.All you three guys are really great when it comes to risk. Great trading lately Bob,good luck.:D

Hi BostonKiller,

LOL yeah, I really don't go long very often anymore. While I have always tended to be more of a short I actually went long a lot more often before a bad UAUA and then again after LEH

In proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks I took some lessons from when I was starting to fade gaps during the first quarter and actually went long a gap up today with HURN.

I actually hope to do more trades to the long side as I am working on several setups.
