Weekly scalping YM/ER2 trading journal for pshinspections

Quote from osorico:

2) 1 to 40 contracts depending on what your system says? Cowpies! According to that, a 20 car trade would have less than a 50/50 system probablity, presuming no system and no trade has a 100% probability. No consistent trader has that kind of variance per trade. LOL

3) Your "Weekly Summary" is nonsense. On a single contract basis PERHAPS you extracted 152 and 196 YM pts respectivly. You just forgot to mention the -4 loser on 5/22 had 40 cars on followed by +18 with 2 cars on. Or the -12 loser on 5/15 had 15 cars on followed with +7 with 5 on. And that of course opens a whole other topic... You are showing us a 16:1 W/L ratio, or something like 93% accuracy. Why the hell would you EVER trade only 1 contract? A system defined max size of 40 cars (and an account able to support such) with 93% accuracy, -12 biggest loser, +18 biggest winner. Yea right, trade 1 car because the system says so. please.

Thanks for taking your valuable time to point-out the obvious, Osorico.

For a minute there I thought people were actually believing what this guy said. :p

pshinspections,

So sorry but you do not add up to the sum of your parts.
In short you are fishing, but you are using the bait and all you will snag are those trailing behind you.

If you are trading 40 contracts you have reached a stage where you do not need to huddle with other Traders.
If you are trading 40 lots max, then your minimum will not be 1 contract.

I could go on and on, but I wont.

In a nutshelll....

Are you trading an existing REAL MONEY account with a broker or are you simply paper trading??

If it is the former, then I have issues with the vagueness of your summaries.

A direct answer will be very useful.

Thanks

I should add that the goal of this thread is to make friends with other profitable traders who are halfway or more toward early retirement, and this is a test to see what sort of constructive criticism and support I get from veteran and novice YM/ER2 traders alike. We all have down days. I forgot to mention that I trade with a $300 margin for the YM and $700 margin for the ER2, and that I use equal numbers of contracts for initial and adds. I do not use dollar figures in my totals because some people trade lighter, or heavier, than I do. To correct my first post (locked), hard stop exits trail in as profit progresses.
... hey, looks like you guys spoiled the fun!

Now is Now, I trade cash.

Think I will just post my record for awhile and ignore people not into constructive criticism and sharing about their own progress. Happy trading!

fearless9, with respect, you do not know my system and are guessing out of ignorance, whist I simply look at my profit numbers. If you actually believe that successful traders do not seek comradere of other successful traders, or that successful traders would not "huddle" with other traders for conversation and support, I simply ask, how would you know? Whether 40 lots or 1, I heed my system recommendations, which is the whole point of getting emotions out of the way when the time comes to push the cash button. And it works well for me. It doesn't sound like you're there yet. But thanks for your note.

It seems what I have been told about the majority of ET folks is true, but the door remains open for all on ET, especially those with successful systems of their own creation.

It is your life and you are more than entitled to live it in a dream.
But be very careful when you introduce your dreams as your reality to the public.
