Hope it's not the case, but I can tell you a friend who had to deal with a stolen identity is still finding problems 3 years later. He also thought he was getting away with one buying from a questionable at best site. Turns out in his situation the California address didn't exsit, but the charges from S. Korea that started showing up on his card were real.
