I generally have no issue with US taxation, however I want consistency in tax rates and get rid of state and local tax. I plan to leave US tax jurisdiction at some point in the next 10 years.

Yeah, that's not going to happen anytime soon. That's how a federal system is run... most expensive form of government in the world due to the admin layers.

They file their US taxes on the appropriate US forms, declaring incomes. There are a number of available deductibles and many countries have tax reciprocity with the US so local taxes aren't double taxed with US.
While it is true that the US (and Eritrea) tax global income based on citizenship, many countries tax global income based on residency.

You pay taxes on income from all countries you have lived in the past year. So, if you lived in the UK, Spain, Mexico all in the same year, you get taxed on income from those countries including, the US. However, there is an amount excluded, from taxation. You are allowed living expenses in the foreign country. If you do not exceed the limit, you do not get taxed on your foreign income. And you have to file your taxes on the same dates as other Americans, usually around April 15 of the following year. IRS sets the deadline to file the taxes so, it could be past April 15 in effect.
