Wealth Tax in California?

-Requires State to acquire majority shares of specified corporations.

-imposition of the tax on certain people dying or leaving the state.

-Imposes additional 17.5% tax on total incomes of taxpayers with income exceeding $150,000 if single, $250,000 if married, increasing to 35% if incomes exceed $350,000 if single, $500,000 if married.

I believe that socialism is the biggest threat in this country.

As it is, the State is cutting back admissions to their State Colleges to the tune of 10,000 kids. Tuition has literally tripled in the last 5 years.

Get a clue.
 
I live in California and am considering leaving because of the high state tax rate which is 9.3% over 42k. I highly double this would pass, but an additional tax high of 17% would create a exodus from California. I would definitely leave. A tax rate this high might actually cause a decrease in revenue for the state. I'm thinking of moving to the caribbean partly because of the tax implications. I love cali though.
 
That is scary, but it is a glance at the future in the US. Wait until the 20 million Mexican illegals are granted amnesty and allowed to vote. This country will make France look like a bastion of limited government.
 
Once politicians get used to taking from one group and giving to another, this kind of thing becomes almost inevitable. It's democracy's achilles heel. The Founders of our country were well aware of it and crafted a Constitution that made it impossible, but over time those protections have been eroded, first with the income tax amendment, now with activist judges.

Of course, a significant percentage of California voters have no earthly idea what I'm talking about.
