We Support The Troops...Until They Get Wounded

Quote from CaptainObvious:

I've believed all along that it's the pencil pushers that have created the problem. It's the miserable cunt receptionist doing her nails, and can't be bothered that creates this atmosphere of indifference. Government employees are the most useless creatures on the planet.
There is one simple solution to this. It's a all inclusive VA health card. Show it at any hospital and the Vet gets treated. Not only that, they go to the front of the line. If they want a gold plated bed pan to piss in, they get it. Whatever they need, they receive, and they get it pronto.
Don't look for it anytime soon. "We support the troops" is on the same level of bullshit as, "what about the children". Makes for a good soundbite and that's about all. Few politicians/media types, if any, really give a rats ass.

Tell it, like it is !!!!

I agree 100% with what you said.

The government & its employees, have one main interest: taking as much of anyones money they can. They could care less about vets, kids, the elderly, homeless, hungry, etc....

I am a vet, and whole situation, is ridiculous.

I think this is a complicated problem. Ann certainly identified one aspect of it. Your solution would be great, if only to create some competition.

I do want to say that I think a lot of military healthcare is first rate. We save a lot of wounded troops who would have died in other wars. We spend a lot of money getting them out of the war zone and flying them on hospital planes up to germany, where they get first class care. I have a relative who is a physician in the Air Force, and I believe the care patients get at his facility is first class.

The other side of the coin is that there are plenty of civilian hospitals, rehab facilities and nursing care providers that provide substandard care. Partly it is economics, partly it is management and partly it is the difficulty of attracting staff.
