That's the point, they're not that stupid, your Buy would get slippage and probably be filled at 1.41 unless they needed your trade for something, they're not a charity giving away free money!

Manipulating quotes is part of the game, they deal the cards which are best for them, their book, and the in-house liquidity they need.

FXCM are probably no better or worse than any other shop but they still play the same well-worn games, nothing new I imagine.

From a regulatory perspective have a look on NFA website and do a search, last time I looked they had a few black marks although I can't remember what for now. Google for FXCM and you'll find there are also some perfectly legitimate-sounding complaints from some reasonable-sounding traders but you need to read between the lines, in fact I think there are a few threads here on ET.
