We need a simple educated President.

Quote from bugscoe:

Who was the second President to be impeached by the House of Representatives?

He was acquitted in the senate so that charge is hollow. Don't worry republicans to this day boast of the only president to resign (in disgrace I might add).

Everbody knows the impeachments of Clinton and Johnson were politically motivated.

People now vote for someone they could "hang" with.

We will never get a simple and educated president until we get simple and educated voters.

The voters are dumb as turds, so why is it that people don't blame the voters?

It is always "the government" or "the president" or something like that. It is always "blame the media" or some other such nonsense.

People on the whole have fully abdicated their own personal responsibility for the process of governance and education about what is going on in politics to someone other than themselves. They don't read, they watch TV and get soundbites. They make the election process of the presidency like a season of American Idol...

The nitwit right wingers don't talk about what shitty candidates McMeany and Apewoman were.

Why don't they take responsibility for putting up an intelligent, educated nominee?

Because an intelligent educated nominee doesn't appeal to the Fox News audience.

So we get fake tough guys like Reagan and Bush, men who never really had to forge a winning personality. Reagan was an actor...that was his training? Bush a spoiled rich kid who was a cheerleader?

Nothing in America will change until the people start taking responsibility for their poor choices of leaders...

Quote from Ricter:

You are right about the character part, but not in the president. The problem is the character of the American people. We have become a gambling culture, all of us hoping to get rich by moving money around, so we can quit working, and let others less fortunate than ourselves labor to serve us. It's no coincidence that stock trading, real estate flipping, casinos, lotteries, online gaming, and TV poker have become so commonly practiced and revered.

A simply educated president is useless if no one follows him or her. And it's certain no one is going to follow one who plans to stand up to the big winners of all those games--they won't beat him down, they won't have to. He just won't have the money to run in the first place.
