And yet you are short...
I'm short with a few long positions.... I sold a good amount of TNA, XIV, SOXL, DIG and GUSH on the way up...of course if I had held these last month's they would have been bigger winners, but oh well.....will be selling rest of longs above 19000 and will be at that point 100% short...
Will wait for at least a 5% pull back before adding any long
Tonight futures are jammed higher I believe again on news Trump picking out his economic team and treasurer..... Just like stocks bounce after a sell off they sell off after huge run ups like this.
Why not ? I agree it makes no sense to anticipate the fall, but one of the best time to take profit or short is when you reach new highs with weak volumes and low strength. This was indeed the case yesterday, and in August too (former historical high).

There's nothing wrong with buying or selling a SIF. But don't put ideas in your mind that we've topped. When markets do go into bear phase there'll be plenty of opportunities to sell AND to buy. Nobody knows when we'll ACTUALLY top, not even the most savvy traders, yes it's possible to see topping formations, but you could never warrant that this time will be the start of a bear market ie >20% declines.
