Free heatlh care isn't going to help this drug problem. The current spike in OD's and deaths is the result of what big pharma did and continues to do pushing opiates for anything and everything. You know, the same companies that the left now seems to worship. There's also a big increase in drugs coming across the border.
We can address these issues, but that won't truly put a real dent in the problem. The problem is we live in a society that promotes escaping any and all of your problems with a quick fix drug which can come in many forms and are easily attainable. We do little to nothing addressing the various mental health issues people have. We do little that actually helps the homeless and other vulnerable people. All of this contributes, but it's big pharma, greedy pharmacists who couldn't care less about tracking the amount sold and to whom, and lazy doctors looking for quick fix solutions that have caused this latest spike and by latest I mean the last 10 years. To those of us on the front lines fighting this issue there's nothing new here, jus the same indifference.
