We Are So Screwed--Head Of CDC Drunk On Obama Koolaid

< “We've provided guidance to pilots, flight attendants and others who are responsible for staffing our transportation infrastructure to ensure that if they notice individuals who are exhibiting symptoms that the proper authorities are notified,” said White House press secretary John Earnest Tuesday >

Odumbo & Co. are dumber than a rock. They actually think a pilot will check out all the passengers on his/her flight? And flight attendants are supposed to be medical personnel now? They are expected to analyze the conditions and behavior of up to hundreds of passengers? Who is a bigger threat to the US? The current administration or ISIS?

Yeah, the flight attendants will have those ear thermometers, and be scanning ears while making sure lap belt is secure, seat back up, and tray table upright, and locked in place... And you don't need ask me who's the bigger threat to America. And in his own words, "they're the varsity squad." He's right. Along side of Onazi, Isis is baby piss.

Rand Paul came out for a travel embargo and made the very relevant observation that we keep being told how difficult it is to catch ebola, yet highly trained medical personnel wearing containment suits are catching it.

There will be dozens more cases in Texas from this one guy. Incredibly, minimally competent visa control in Liberia would have kept him out, ebola or no ebola. I wonder how much he paid in bribes to get that visa? That consular officer should be investigated and brought in front of a congressional committee to explain himself.

Enough is enough.

The virus doesn't takeover the whole country or anything like that even under the worst break-out scenario.

In the U.S. we would see clusters pop up continuously but not widespread infection like you see in the movies.

Africa would be screwed completely though as usual. I don't know why diseases like HIV and ebola spring from equatorial africa because other continents that are crossed by the equator do not seem to be major sources of disease. They are saying that HIV originated in Kinshasa (Congo) and ebola virus originated near the Ebola River at the headwaters of the Mongola River (Congo). It can *all* be traced to the practice of eating bush-meat.

I've eaten my fair share of bush-meat along the Oyapock and Maroni rivers but tried to restrict it mostly to cayman and certainly never ate any primate that I knew about. It is difficult to avoid bush-meat in remote parts of asia and south america and probably impossible for impoverished people in Africa to simply omit it from their diet.

"I've seen elephant meat, gorilla meat, several times here," one man told us. "Their grandfathers started eating elephants' and gorillas' meat -- they find that it tastes good."

On this desperately poor continent with ever-increasing populations of people, it's estimated that a million metric tons of bushmeat is eaten every year. That's the equivalent of 9 billion quarter pounders.

And you'd be surprised by where this meat is ending up now -- Queens, N.Y.

A professional investigator, who asked us not to reveal his name, took us to a market where he found what he said were stacks of meat from an animal called a "cane rat." It was being sold for $20 a pound.

We showed the undercover video to Crawford Allen, who investigates the illegal animal trade for the World Wildlife Fund.

"We know that [bushmeat's] readily available, not just in Queens, but in parts of Washington, D.C., parts of Minneapolis, St. Paul -- other centers around the country," Allen said. "It's because people have a passion for bushmeat. They want that taste from home."

Bushmeat Poses Potentially Catastrophic Health Threat
The influx of bushmeat poses a potentially catastrophic health threat. The Centers for Disease Control told us they're alarmed.

Even as the nation deals with the swine flu, the CDC said bushmeat could be the source of an outbreak of monkey pox, ebola -- which is immediately and universally fatal -- or a virus we've never even heard of before.

"Particularly with primates, monkeys and apes, they can carry diseases like ebola, which is a very nasty fatal virus," Allen said. "They can carry HIV, all sorts of different viruses which can be fatal to humans as well as also viruses that can be damaging to the agricultural industry in the U.S."

"Nightline" went back to the owners of the store in Queens, where our investigator said he found bushmeat. The store manager denied ever selling bushmeat. When we told him we had an investigator with a hidden camera in the store, who claims cane rat from Africa was for sale, he reiterated that they sell no bushmeat whatsoever.

The federal government is cracking down on the bushmeat trade, stepping up luggage searches at airports. Mamie Manneh, an African immigrant and mother of 10, was recently sentenced to three years probation for smuggling bushmeat into New York City and selling it.

Bushmeat Crisis in Africa
Back in Africa, bushmeat has created a much bigger crisis. Beyond the potential health risks, there is a very real and urgent danger -- a natural catastrophe that threatens not only animals, but humans, too.

Africa's been sending interesting things to America for a few hundred years now. Slaves (and look how we're paying now!), AIDS, scammers, this new disease, and God knows what next. Someone remind me what Africa does for America.

Some of you are pretty ignorant. I wish the US had a better education system and a more worldly view, but I don't expect miracles when there are far too many dumb asses like you preaching your bigoted views and are too dumb to know why they are so.
