Virtue Signaling is where you say stuff so a group of people will think you're a good person but you don't actually do anything.

A good example of virtue signaling is like when a country is attacked by terrorists and people on facebook put one of those flags up as their profile picture to show everyone how they support [insert country] but in reality they are not actually doing a single thing to help anyone.

Another example would be those people who protest against the muslim ban. They march and shout about rights, but some of them have never even met a refugee or even know a muslim.
