Way to overcome thinkscript limitations?

Hello folks,

I was surprised when the founder of Thinkscript forum said that its nearly impossible to code a simple horizontal line connecting to highs (lows) because of the lack of a usable looping construct.

This left me very dissapointed. Is there any way I could attach another programming environment over thinkorswim to somehow inject the code that I need?

Or, is it just better to go with another charting platform? Which one would you recommend?

Sounds like a very unstable solution. Ok, so let's say that this works:
1) You now want to move to a new broker? Rewrite the whole platform
2) ThinkOrSwim changes their tech slightly? Rewrite the whole platform
3) You want to put your code on a server? Rewrite...

If your broker doesn't have what you need then definitely look somewhere else

Not sure, what you are trying to say, but I'm using TOS solely as a charting software like many other traders do.
Its the best and I thought, it would be the best in every aspect. Unfortunately, thinkscript is its weakest point.

I think TOS works with ninja trader I may be wrong about that.

I trust you've since found the solution to the trend line decorations you're describing.
If not, I'm curious to know what you're trying to do and I'm pretty sure the language, thinkScript has come a long way since you received this "practically impossible" opinion. Also, which "founder" of which "forum" (do you mean a subforum here at ET or another thinkorswim or thinkScript forum?)
For most users and traders, thinkScript is the only way to work with tos charts. For institutional professional, there's a "pipes" API, but that's not a consumer level environment. tos used to have integration with Prodigio, but that ended some years back, though Prodigio still exists and may have some way to use a tos or AMTD account.

I haven't checked in a while about the new possibilities if there are any. I'm learning python at the moment. It was the actual founder of the thinkscript forum.

Have you tried setting up a thinkscript strategy that buys one high then sells at the next high...then you'll get a pink dashed line connecting those two points to show up on the chart.

I think it may be possible to connect highs (low) with horizontal line. However, you can ask for custom coding, like this ThinkScript Programmer.
