Watch Pres. Obama Fumble Easy Question on Precedent

We could indeed. Since you're claiming the immigration EO wasn't a big deal, I defer to you to show me where other Presidents had similar impacting EOs.
Actually, you're challenging the meaning of my actual statement, which was to quantity, with your qualitative argument. So please feel free to show me that no previous EOs in 100 years are as significant.

George Washington used executive order as a proclamation about the Thanksgiving holiday.

Good ol Honest Abe used executive order to suspend the writ of habeas corpus. Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Taney, in his role as a federal circuit judge, ruled that Lincoln’s executive order was unconstitutional , but Lincoln and his army ignored it. I'd bet Obama would ignore any court rulings against his, too.

Also, congress can pass a new law overriding an executive order, but I would not hold my breath waiting for Boehner and Mcconnell to pass a law overriding this executive order, no matter how much they protest it. We all know why, and it isn't the threat of a veto.

Reagan and Bush's executive orders on illegal aliens were in regard to implementing laws that had already been passed by congress. They were not, as in the case of Obama, going over the head of and contravening the will of congress.

Only a libtard can't see the difference.
