Well I used the https://www.census.gov/popclock/ and got a percentage 4.39548 % at that moment. But yeah, the waste levels are ridiculous. The US is turning into a landfill, other countries don't have the space to just dump and forget.
I think there may be something in old men "boomers" being atypically hopeless compared to the world average. So many are just WTF whining assholes? Wasteful, just junk everything. E.g. bugging me this moment. I'd repaired an AC unit for a friend-of-friend retired ex-pat, a classic "gringo" health tourist. Basically a poor retiree, under-educated middle management man who can feel a little richer here.
Unit was 6 years old, a year over warranty but he was complaining about it being noisy & disturbing him. "I dunno, just makes a weird noise!". Ok, fan was in bad shape etc. I'm not a repairman but I'm not stupid. I got four brushless 120mm DC fans instead (more fans, slower speed), a thermostatically controlled pulse modulated fan speed controller when I was downtown and in 20 minutes, whisper quiet upgrade, de-icing perfect, sweet job for $8. That was two days ago.
This morning I saw a new AC unit being delivered. He's giving me "I know you did your best but the noise was still there and you can't fix anything for $10".. So he gets the new unit in and as the guys finish... the "noise" is back. It is just a f*^kin bird in a tree outside, a little brown one that is everywhere in Colombia. He's been here for years, a dull man-cow at only 72.
Ok not the best example but like most of the old duffer gringos, there is always some pathetic stupid crap and they are always bullshitting their glory days. My grandad's generation was not like that.
The boomer generation, not role models for any younger men (or women).

Look, I'll sympathize with the whole avoidance of American or western women. I realized long ago that the constant competition in a relationship for who is the man that comes with being involved with a western woman is not something I ever wanted a part of. Fortunately I became an expat in Russia and found my soulmate over in Moscow. Though we've been back in the states for a while now, she's still the Russian woman I fell in love with.
Is it work? Sure. Humans are animals at the end of the day and co-habitation with another "animal" requires effort. But she and I are good about allowing each other our own personal time but still maintaining a great family life. And she gave me my son who I adore.
Love life still going strong after 14 years, won't disgust you with the details but somehow the sex keeps getting better, no idea how that happens but not going to question the miracle.
But touting the life of being 50 and hunting for pussy is rather creepy. At a certain point, you're going to be that guy Chris Rock refers to when he mentions the "old guy in the club - he's not too old, just a little too old for the club". In Moscow I saw these old lecherous guys as they scouted out 20 something Russian girls. Knew a Brit everyone called "the Moscow Wolf" who used to tag them regularly. My wife walked into the woman's room one time and he was going at it with a girl 1/3 his age in one of the stalls. Classy.
