America is just 4.3x% of the World's population? I've been to over 40 countries (not including airports etc.) and fragile egos, emotional weakness and self-loathing etc. seems strongest there for sure. Generation me-me-me started with the baby boomers, the most lavishly privileged generation in human history. Multi-generational crappiness ensued.

The good news is 4.4% /2/x/x = not many . There is a larger world and it seems ok. Americans often think that because their world seems to be ending (immature drama) the World is. It is not, it is good shape overall.

Men & women, boys & girls abroad are massively varied still, not perfect but I sense enough see the USA as a moral hazard lesson. What the old expression? I am not completely useless, I can serve as a bad example? :)

Pretty good considering the exponential population growth and all. Its not ok for everyone, it never has been, economics say there must be slaves as things are. That sounds callous but technology is coming along fast and it will take some edges off 10 billion but.. we do need to get off the rock. Only recently a UK university cracked the last major hurdle in low energy, graphine based water desalination for example.

The US is not a single personality but a big element of the national psyche is a kind of death cult. Many, weirdly too many people there want things to get worse, blow it all up etc etc. No thanks, humanity is ok in relative terms. A friend said quoting a George Clooney movie recently, "I am not a racist, I'm like my mother, I stereotype, it's faster". The US is not in as bad a shape as many fear there but victim-hood is attractive and usually a precursor of civilization stagnation & slow collapse. The land mass & people will still be there just things will be different in time.

As George Carlin (seems popular around here) said "Inside every cynical person is a disappointed idealist." and maybe the US will get out of the current funk, we can hope. However the US is (heresy I know) not all that important, except to itself? Most high tech University programs require foreign kids leeched from the rest of the world. Do the math... how can 4.4%, of which only 0.5% or less have a passable education, actually breed the number of genius minds required to sustain silicon valley, parts of Dallas etc? If those genius kids from 95.6% of the world stayed at home, they would help their own countries and probably more efficiently.

Things are fine & pretty robust when you see things in proportion. Men and women as still pretty compatible also, but these much longer lives since antibiotics need to be adjusted for.

Nope, single, just don't need a peer group to pat my head while saying "there, there" or tell me what is blatantly obvious to most men.
 
I think it's great that America produces strong and independent women. That's what want in my partners. If I wanted something that just stays at home and never talks back, I'd get a potted plant.
