I've said in the past I'm not opposed to toppling dictatorships. Just wish we had better leadership that wasn't in it to make a buck, or go to it as a distraction (because you can't criticize a war president lest you be branded a traitor). Or had committed before the Russians decided to go in.

Gotta say the conspiracists have a point this time around (if indeed Assad was winning the war; I haven't kept up).
 
America is the worlds policeman like it or not. Unless we change the constitution and take away the presidents power to order military strikes things aren't going to change. Even American corporations don't wish to pay the taxes required to be the worlds policeman which is why they are leaving.

My copy of the Constitution gives the congress the exclusive authority to declare war. Trump is acting in a way that other presidents have but that doesn't make it right. Ironically this is the one thing he has done that is impeachable. Not only has he acted unconstitutionally, but hsi actions are beyond reckless. He has committed acts of war based on inconclusive evidence and put us in a situation where we have to rely on Russian forbearance to avoid war. That decision is properly congress' to make.

This is not what we voted for.
