Say you sold an ADR, Aluminum Corp of China (ACH) for a loss, can you buy back the locally listed equivalent on the Hong Kong stock exchange, Chalco (2600.hk) and harvest the losses without it being considered a wash sale. The stocks do not trade in exact unison, I believe Chalco is at about a 9% discount to ACH. Does anyone know how the rules work for ADR's??

If YOU're domiciled in the US, you should be able to draw your conclusion.
Get yourself a 475 rather than trying to grind a square peg in a round hole.
Incidently, paying MORE taxes is something to strive for. It's.........eh...............form of measurement. A very telling one, that can't be rationalized away.
