wait there is some logic to this.

the uk deals with the majority of forex trading. thus if there is a single currency in europe now have we lost enormous commissions also if there is ever a world currency will the uk lose all economic power.

No, what was devastating for UK was the current generation, all growing up to be brokers and Cinderellas and actors and musicians, while drinking and partying all the time. All this while UK still acting as if it is still the 19th century.
