That actually sounds like a good idea.Let Republicans use their resources and political capital investigating Podesta.What do democrats have to lose?
This is the kind of incompetency that makes you pull your hair out with republicans. Do you think for a minute the dems would not be demanding a special counsel to investigate this if instead of Podesta, it was Jeff Sessions or maybe Steve Bannon?
There is actually more evidence here than for the Russia collusion investigation. They can't even prove the Russians interfered in the election. We have hard data that there has been a mysterious spike in the number of young girls going missing in the DC area. The WashPost has reported on it.
Why aren't republicans clamoring for a Special Counsel to get to the bottom of the Clinton email scandal, particularly in light of Comey's bizarre behavior? Then there is the surveillance of Trump's campaign and the illegal unmasking and leaking. All require Special Counsel. In fact, it would be a bit dubious for Trump's Justice Department to investigate any of those. That is why we use Special Counsel.
Instead we get nothing. As Trump tweeted, the guy who told him to fire Comey is investigating him for firing Comey. Weird.
In politics, if you aren't on offense, you are on defense, particularly if you are a republican, given the media bias. Fight fire with fire. Of course, John McCain and Paul Ryan would be appalled. Who gives a fuck? This is close to game over for Trump if he doesn't get this under control.
