Ok, now we're getting somewhere...thought you were advocating for scrapping ALL public education. I could get behind only subsidizing education paths with a proven revenue stream. Though I get no say in the wars we get involved in or the toys we buy from the defense sector it seems, and that wasteful spending rarely gets attacked.
K-12 could certainly use some improvement but I have no issue with it being funded with my tax dollars as an investment in our young people. That makes sense. After that people need to be responsible for their own decisions. My position on post secondary education is we first need to address the outrageous cost of it before we ever begin to discuss some type of debt forgiveness, or alternative methods that students can use to pay for it.
You're absolutely right on the war machine, different subject, but a real problem none the less. Much more so than college tuition, but they, congress, don't want to truly address it because there are few if any clean hands when it comes to this mess.
Part of me agrees with that, then again I don't. Everyone should have some say. Frankly I don't blindly trust the judgment of someone just because they're in a high tax bracket, or outright dismiss them just because they're in a lower bracket. We need some kind of balance, but it is an issue that could use some adjustment.
