Where can I find those statistics?Generally speaking there is NO hope... industry stats are out there.. retail traders 95% lose, 5% win, 1% win enough to live on... it is a hopeless sport.
Thanks.

But most of his outperformance was during his early years when most of his gains/wealth were from owning stocks and not businesses. Now that his businesses overwhelm his stocks, his performance lagged the SPY even with his incredible deals on BAC, Goldman, etc.?You guys keep forgetting that Buffet is wealthy by OWNING BUSINESSES. The stock pickjs is just where he is parking earnings. Look at his portfolio of owned 100% businesses. Just because he decided to park excess earnings in COKE, McDonald's and GE is not where is true net worth comes from.
why do you care?Where can I find those statistics?
Thanks.
His businesses are private holdings that generate for him net income in the billions per QUARTER. i saw last year his free cash and liquid securities was at almost $100 billion.
His stock holdings could earn 1% a year and his business still earn in NET INCOME more than most small countries. While you wonder if his stock holdings beat the S&P his private business holdings kick off enough free cash and net income to buy countries. I doubt he is worried if his home depot stock beats the S&P as he has more money than God and earning even 1% on the extra money he throws at the stock market still generates 100s of milions.
If you want to emulate Buffet it is in mergers/aquisitions/private buy outs/finance and valuing a business for purchase. When he says never lose money that message is not for traders and stock investors really, it is for people evaluating a business to take over.
What makes Buffet different is that when he bought Geico or See's Candies he gets his team to look at all the financials, meet with management, review all contracts, liabilities and assets, have his own accountants review the books, inspect the plants and buildings etc. Things you and I cannot do when we buy shares of APPL or AMZN or trade futures.
I have heavy weight in tech... half the portfolio is QQQ XLK AAPL GOOG AMZN... that should easily outperform the SPY,.. I also have a thread called 'trading is easy', where I use sentiment/news cycle/volatility to get better prices... that should be enough to outperform Warren.

the pros don't do any better... over any 15 year period only 2-3% outperforms the SPY... virtually nobody outperforms the QQQ.
so why bother.
the job market is red hot... get a high demand skill, make easy 6 figures, throw all the savings into QQQ FAAMG.. that's the shortest path to riches today..
work smart.

Hi Guys
Is it possible to get access to the similar information that Warren Buffet has ? Watching some of the shows on Warren Buffet where he discusses his investment strategy - he indicates he does not use complex methods to decide on stocks. But rather simply looks at basic info such as balance sheet and organization strategy (of the stock).
Would regular investors be able to get similar information to base their investment on this.
