Warren and Me

As a trader I never cared much about what the stock market did. I could make money either way. But as a tax paying citizen I was concerned about the economy. I have always been confused by Warrens support of the democrat party since they seem to be so bad for the economy. But when you think it through, they are probably the best for the stock market.

I'm pretty sure if anybody replies this thread will get kicked down to the PR basement (especially in an election year), but I was just observing that the democrat party is very good for the kind of investments Warren Buffet usually holds.

perhaps you misunderstood the post. I said as a taxpayer and amateur economist I don't like democrats, and could never undrstand why Warren did. But I can see how the democrat policies facilitate better profits for the type of companies he usually owns. Like I said, if you want to take it down to the basement be my guest. I thought maybe I could get at least one thoughtful reply from an economist.

I think anyone who becomes President is going to have insanely hard time as Obama has put us in so much debt, I see possible depression. If interest rates goes up, and they will surely will, we will default on the Bonds and Notes, China holds a massive amount of our debt. We have to start putting on serious tax at the cashier if products made outside the country, we have done so much bad to ourselves for cheap prices, there is no equality when their workers makes a pot of rice wages and out people are unemployed. Unemployment really is over fifteen percent, so many have just given up or work at part time jobs. Only way to have equality is tax the crap out of foreign made goods to bring these jobs back to America, lower the wages government workers make, it is not suppose to be where working for the government makes more than private, reduce all the double and triple layers of government and combine, have a hiring freeze on for certain jobs. Have to start charging other countries for our presence to have bases there, they doing better than us cause we footing the bill. Tell the UN we no longer going to foot 78% of the cost of that building. Other countries can either put in or not, but we have to stop paying other countries that vote against us. Put the biggest wall along Mexico/USA border, put prisoners on the chain gang to pick crops, clean roads, make Secondary roads, we have so many roads in need of repairs. Need to have different judges and doctor checkout last ten years of those gotten on Disability, that has increased more than double in last ten years. It is a shame our military have to get food assistance cause military can't pay troops but those in Congress get forever retirement by being in one term, have their own health bennies.

I am glad I can afford small homes in three other countries, I been buying same amount of Gold each month for past eleven years, I am very afraid America will be much different in nine years.

I love when people say others lack empathy, but if government were to tax you double or triple for your beliefs, I would say that is fair, but giving free stuff to people does not work, it just makes them even more lazy to go out and get a job, too many in America will not take a lessor jobs like it is beneath them. And yet people come to America and in several years owns businesses, their entire families work together to build a better life.

Empathy? You ever walk the streets of New Orleans, Trenton, NJ and Harem? Government been giving to these areas decades, built low cost housing which is now a battle zone, Post Office won't even deliver the mail many places now as those people who get free everything makes it a mini war zone. City I live near, El Paso, 98% get food assistance, yep it is part of Texas along with Dallas, Houston and San Antonio that are Dems where rest of the state is Republican for the people who pull up there sleeves cause they have to not like some slick politicians.

I am all for people voting for others to get freebies, but they should have to pay extra taxes.

yes, but if you own a business like KO which relies heavily on consumerism, I can see why somebody may prefer the democrat way of thinking. It will take a lot of democratic socialist policy to destroy the economy so bad that poor people won't even have enough money to buy a coke.
 
I think Warren is a democrat for social reasons. Not because it supports his portfolio. He has senators on both sides in his pocket.

I believe in the 1960s people were allowed to receive 13 items, meat, flour, cheese, dairy, in other words you had to know how to cook, it was to keep you fed and more importantly make you go get a job to eat better. You know if you have like five in your family allows you to get $900 a month of groceries? If you look at their carts they have lobster and Porterhouse steaks, HoHo's pastries, pecan pies, name brand cereals, they eat better than if they had to pay for it I am very sure.

I believe their are 28 million Americans getting SNAPS. It started in 1939 where you spent of your own money $4 bucks and get back $2 orange stamps to purchase Government Excess Foods. I would like to see get rid of the program altogether and make school cafeterias open for 3 meals, so people could get jobs to assist in preparation of food, get people out of their houses, get some exercise, unless you simple can't walk, it would certainly cost less.

I don't mind paying my fair share of taxes, but there so much hidden bullshit in USA by people who are voted in and buddies and themselves get to share in, should make it two term max lifetime law of being in Congress, otherwise these people become millionaires for being a Congress person.

We are getting less and paying more, and what we getting seldom fixes problem.
