Today, President Trump's job approval is nearly identical to a week ago - today, it is a negative 40 - 54 percent approval rating. Last week, his approval rating was a negative 41 - 53 percent. Looking ahead to the 2020 presidential election, he receives similar levels of support as his approval rating against top Democratic contenders:

Looking ahead to the 2020 presidential election, he receives similar levels of support as his approval rating against top Democratic contenders:
- Biden beats Trump 51 - 40 percent, compared to 54 - 38 percent on August 28;
- Sanders tops Trump 49 - 42 percent, compared to 53 - 39 percent on August 28;
- Warren wins against Trump 49 - 41 percent, compared to 52 - 40 percent on August 28.
These polls are snapshots and signals. A Quinnipiac poll showing Warren with 30% support is an outlier. The same is true for the Fox News poll showing Biden up big. Both polls are very good btw.
The polls are showing voters are varying among dem tranches. In other words there is a lot of noise.
Now the Quinnipiac poll you cited is useful as from the Trump info gathered. His numbers on white women is a big blaring red siren. If Warren can pick those voters up in a general election it would be very difficult for Trump to make up for that loss.
Warren’s taking a page from the DNC playbook, push left to win the primary, swing right to win the election.
Her flipflops will be GOP fodder and her undoing because there’s no way she can win with her current uber-socialist platform. Independents do not want to go the socialist route.
With a black VP shes owns Trump like Obama owned McCain and Romney.
Unlike you the vast majority of voters vote their pocketbooks, not skin color. We tried that once.
Trumps support among independents is at about ~37%. That’s horrendous for a sitting president.

President Trump is gaining among independent voters in head-to-head matchups with the Democratic presidential front-runners, according to a new IBD-TIPP poll.
Former Vice President Joe Biden leads Trump by just 1 point among independents, which is down from Biden's 18-point lead among the voting group in September.
In a head-to-head matchup with Sen. Elizabeth Warren(D-Mass.), 49 percent of independents backed Trump, while 43 percent threw their support behind the senator in the poll, which was released on Monday.
We tried that twice and twice Obama won because of super high black voter turnout.
