This may have been posted already but if you go to :

your account-> edit option-> show image attachments -> select NO.

That way the image can't open unless you click the link. Just don't click on anything from anyone you don't know or trust.

I have no problem with those threads, I think it's a problem on your computers. Take a close look at the URL's you guys are having problems with and you will see it's not an EliteTrader URL.

Very weird, I had the problem when clicking on the link through the forum main menu :

Once I get first to the option menu, then the thread looks legit with a dozen replies and I can enter it without issue.

Thanks for the tip, hopefully that will stop any more cases of this for me until it's resolved.

It seems as if clicks to forums are almost randomly being redirected to this problematic site.. I have no idea how it's being done and haven't heard of this type of redirection 'hack' either.

Like we needed any more BS in tricycle boy's thread The site seems to have been hacked seriously - except in the feedback forum, I have opened only abt 4 threads in the last couple of hours and 2 were infected _ please update the situation on this thread , although I wonder if it will remain safe much longer

Yes two threads this evening were infected. First time I have opened infected threads . I have images disabled in edit options but when I opened the thread it linked to site and images opened.

I believe somehow this hacker has installed a backdoor trojan or worm on those who were redirected.

I opened a thread where there was child porn. I clicked away in a second but I don't think I was redirected anywhere, I think they were uploaded on this site.

Is the child porn traceable to my computer in some way? Is it enough to clear the cache memory?

Volente, what does it mean ? I run a couple of Avast scans which found nothing - but I can't access the forum anymore, today open a ET link directly from my email box ( 1 link to which I have already replied) and again got hit - does it come from the thread beeing hacked or from the user beeing infected?? I noticed nothing until last night but now it seems I can't surf ET anymore
