That pretty much confirms what I thought, which is that this is totally a virus on a user's computer which was obtained from one of those initial round of posts from that sicko. What this means is that you're computer has been hijacked and is overlaying pictures on random threads at random times. Here are additional reasons why I believe this to be the case:

1. The site is clean as a whistle when you surf it from any non-windows device, which includes Mac laptops, ipads, iphones, android devices, etc. We have used all of those devices for the past 3 days trying to find one shred of porn and have yet to find a single picture. Here is a way to test this: If you are surfing the site and come cross some garbage using your windows machine, go to the exact same thread using your phone, or some other non-windows device and you'll see that it displays fine.

2. I went out and bought a fresh Windows laptop earlier today just for the sole purpose of trying to get it infected on this site and it's still running fine and displaying nothing objectionable.

3. We are not getting tons of complaints from lots of users. It seems like the same group of users are the ones reporting repeated incidents at random times, which are incidents that we have not been able to duplicate.

Yeah, I saw that and removed it but that's a completely different issue than the one I was talking about above.

Wrong. I got the pics on the hypothecate thread and I am 100% OS X. I got a porn pm last week but did not click any attachments.

I'm not saying you didn't. This guy has tried about 10 different methods over the past two weeks. All I'm saying is that one of the methods may have caused some windows users to get a virus. These users are reporting random overlays, which is where the pics are not in the actual thread but floating and scrolling on top of it like something else within the OS is controlling it. And then when some of those same users report that a HD reformat fixed it, well, there's your virus problem solved.

So are you suggesting a reformat of our HD? That is not a practical solution for me, and unless I am certain that a virus on my computer is at fault, which I am not at all convinced about, I won't be taking that route.

I have not lodged a complaint until this point because I thought it would be redundant. I would like you to be aware that not everyone who experienced the hijacking has reported it.
