Warning: Online Trading Academy (tradingacademy.com)

Quote from AM Bankus:

Perhaps as a means to face the bad economic conditions and in an effort to drastically reduce costs, OTA is now conducting webinars out of their Orlando, Fl office and no doubt other offices around the country as well.

The webinars elimnate the costs of flying in a speaker from out of town and those great breakfasts and free lunch; cheap danish and soggy subs.

In any event, I recieved an invite to attend one of their webinars and figured what the heck, instead of driving to the other side of town, wasting gas and time of going to their local office, I could watch from the privacy of my own computer and not be held captive in a hostile enviroment and being harrassed by used car salesmen.

I also thought perhaps they would have something new. Something fresh. Boy was I surprised!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I also have heard from others, that much like the onsite PTW's, the webinars did not start on time and were horribly organized. Oh well, what else would you expect from OTA??

Same ole, same ole OTA. Same crap. Just one big sales pitch and the funniest part was that the video was distorted and the audio went out several times. Obviously this is a new attempt for OTA and obvioulsy as usual, OTA is going cheap, cheap, cheap to put together a program.

The good news is that at least I didn't waste 1/2 a day at their center and gas. The bad news was that I did waste about 1/2 hr of my time which could have been better spent doing something else. I didn't watch the whole program. Couldn't handle the childish, unprofessional manner that this was conducted. But then again, why should I be surprised? After all this is OTA and professionalism is not part of their arsenal.

So if you get an offer to attend an OTA webinar, by all means, sign up. At the very least you will get a really good laugh and if you have children under 10 years of age, you will know thet even they can do a better job at this than OTA.

I was reading through your thread. You obviously have a problem with these guys, so why do you continue to listen to their webinars and go to their sales pitches: I don't get it.

You also mention that you feel it's a scam but then you said something about how you liked their futures class...no offense, but you seem a little schizo.

If you will reread what I wrote, I said that this was the first Webinar OTA was hosting and it had been some time since I had been to one of their events. I heard that they have restaffed the Orlando office and made some changes so was expecting something different. Not so, same ole, same ole. One difference was that I didn't have to drive across town and be harrassed by their used car salesmen in person. Instead, they called me on the phone and attempted to use high pressure tactics to CLOSE ME! ENT! I hung up on them!

As for the Futures class, I said that was the only class that seemed at least slightly worth the money. The trainer was very good and the information was above par, er, for OTA's standards. I wouldn't think it was worth $5,000 either but better than the other classes.

Nice comeback. You OTA people should work on improving your company, not insulting people who are exposing you for what you really are.

You said "worth the money" but "wouldn't think it was worth $5,000".

Therefore, what price do you think its worth considering you seem to have put a monetary value on the futures class. ?

For $5k I think a private seminar of no more than 4 or so people for 15-20 hours with a single pro trader (no sales staff, just a sign in secretary or assistant) maybe for two, 2 day weekends, or 10 sessions of 1-2 hours each.

I've heard the ads for OTA on Bloomberg. In one testimonial the dude is saying he's found a way to give up his day job.Another guy claims he turned $6k into $30k in one month using OTA's method.Shameless.

Shameless promotion form OTA. Probably an OTA employee or paid shill. At the Orlando center, there was a guy ther claiming to be making $2,000 a day when he didn't even have $200 to his name. He claimed to own a Mercedes when in fact he came to work on a bus or with a friend and didn't even have a car.

I would take any testimonials about OTA with a grain of salt.

Read it again, I said "slightly worth the money" The high fees that OTA charges goes to pay for the trainers who they fly in I believe from corporate in California, hotel fees and a whopping $700 a day salary plus meals.

Are you beginning to see where these trainers really make their money? HINT: It is not from trading.

You able to put a dollar amount on what "slightly worth the money" equals to you considering you did give praise for the futures class by OTA. If you don't want to put a dollar value on the futures class after implying it has value (e.g. trainer was very good, information was above par) even for OTA standards regardless if the worth is small or large...that's OK.

I just expected that when someone knows a product very well...that person is able to put a dollar amount on their use of the phrase "slightly worth the money" especially after further saying its not worth $5,000 to imply they know the value of the futures class in dollar amount.

Therefore, I'll ask the question one more time about the futures class you've attended...

slightly worth the money = ??? dollars
