Warning: Don't trust IB's TWS Portfolio page or Trades Report for positions

Sorry to see you leave this site, Oldtrader. I think you do have much knowledge to contribute to this site, and particularly to discussions about IB. I would much rather see you continue posting, while showing greater openmindedness and respect toward those who encounter bugs or have a viewpoint different from your own. I agree with some of your comments, and disagee with others, but I think your participation is valuable to all.

Well said....I agree. Lots of IB complaints are not really asking for a specific way to avoid their specific current little complaint....but an agenda of hoping that the word will get to IB that they need to concentrate on a GOAL of perfecting what they have before moving on to new so called upgrades. FWIW I upgraded to 893.9/1.60_13 and this problem went away. I now show the same trades on both my machines.

Note to Oldtrader: Hang in there. We need your support on ET to help make IB better.

The software and link from our machines-->TWS-->Java-->ISP-->Inet routers-->IB servers-->exchange quote and order servers-->ect is complex. Things happen, but IB is a fine broker and is just going to get better.

Good trading to all.

Quote from Wayne Gibbous:

Here is something strange I noticed the last couple of weeks. I have two computers connected to the same network switch and ISP. I use one (a newer Vista machine) for most trading. And an older XP for trading my IRA sometimes.

Trades always show up fine on the Vista main trading computer. But for years I could trade on one machine, and after TWS was logged off I could log on to my account (with another copy of TWS) on my other machine and all my trades were there. Not now. Trades do not show up on my other machine. Account and position info look okay. But no trades.

Strange huh? Are trades now being held in local memory and not on IB's servers? My TWS versions are different too I think (I'll check later). Does this make a difference? Anybody from IB check in here anymore?
