warning about G450!

Who knew this stuff could be so complicated? I almost bought one of those IBM oem cards myself. Glad I missed it.

We're lucky to have this resource to answer these questions.

XP has detection routines to figure out which driver to use. If it cannot find a match, it whines. Yes, Matrox G450 Dual drivers come with XP (and I think it's the same driver for the Quad).

To install these, do I simply uninstall the old drivers, and then reboot so the system knows to look for new drivers, or is there a utility on the XP disk where I can tell it to install drivers?

Thanks,

Jay

Start/Control panel/System/hardware/Device Manager

Expand the Display Adapters
Right click and select Properties
Select Driver
Update Driver.

There's probably a faster way, but this is the one I always remember. :D

Easy nuf,

Thanks,

I agree with those saying to avoid the Matrox drivers. I have never gotten them to work properly. Just uninstall them and then reboot. XP will do the rest. I have been running on the XP default drivers for almost a year with no problems.
