You don't need to improve this journal at all. I read it with awe and admiration every day and am amazed by how well you can pick them.
The only thing I'd like to learn is how do you go about picking them. Real time posting would help make trades but wouldn't teach us how to pick them.

New Fed. Chairman (I'm so disgusted I can't even say his name) wants long term rates to rise or else he's going to keep raising rates!!!!
Way to come out swinging...........This is a loose loose for equity holders in my opinion......Long term rates rise market begins to falter.....Long term rates stay close to where they are today, Fed. BOY wrecks the equity markets by raising short term rates to 5.25 or above......Just My Opinion.....The Man hasn't even opened his mouth yet and I already feel sick....The speech is out!!!!

I primarily only trade (daytrade) Energy....though I am following your journal to broaden my horizons (and possibly a long term perspective).
What are you looking for in individual sectors? Simply the strongest areas of the market and either the top notch or undiscovered gems of that area??
I have been in the CWPC for a couple weeks (wish I had your price a year ago) and was very surprised to see that you had sold a hefty chunk of the position today into the breakout.....what's your thinking? discipline/money management or that the stock has just run too far too soon?

Some time ago you said your selection filter was not something you would be willing to share but hinted it was momentum driven. I think all of us are envious of your culling out the strong stocks - you just seem to get it right more often than not.

first of all ,
a) Do you believe your portfolio's better-the-market gain is your diversity in more then at least 4-6 symbols?
b) When you started building the portfolio, Did you enter in all at once or did you enter bit by bit?

Interestingly enough, I have found myself leaning toward your style of investing/trading -- long term 'core' holdings with shorter-term trading. Seems to get the best of both worlds - holding for longer periods through intermed. action for huge 1000%+ gains, as well as consistent swing/day trades for smooth equity growth. I would definitely like more insight as to how you are able to manage these positions but I think earlier you said you've been doing it for some 30 odd years...
Where I am on my trading/investing path is determining optimal position size and risk management.. it seems you use fixed lot sizing -- ie round numbers -- is there a specific reason?
