Want to see George Zimmerman beat within an inch of his life

The red states do not really want the military bases that were forced on them.

The above statement is flat out wrong. From city mayors to county commissioners to state governors to local businesses they all fight to keep their military bases, even in red states like my own Texas.

By the way this is a silly argument y'all have going.

The assertions made in the Mother Jones article below are absurd and have been completely debunked in multiple in-depth studies. Mother Jones is merely playing games with statistics with total disregard for accounting standards involving government expenditures (or in other words - they are totally misapplying amounts to red states that are actually sent to blue states - such as 80% of crop subsidies)

Let's eliminate military base spending, farm subsidies, and other non-welfare federal spending from the accounting.

The red states do not really want the military bases that were forced on them. These bases take up large tracts of land that are useful for other economic purposes and require local money spent on policing & other services because they tend to be high crime / low income areas. Let's put a large military base in NYC or Boston - and bulldoze all the existing homes.

The displaced residents from these blue cities can survive on the 80%+ of large farm subsidies that are sent to the owners of corporate farms who reside in blue states (but is seen as red state money for some reason).

Let's properly focus on federal welfare spending--defined here as childhood nutrition programs, food stamp programs, WIC benefits TANF benefits, and other similar benefits.

This article from USA Today "New Yorkers lead pack in government benefits" compiled data showing which states had the highest per capita expenditures for every type of government-provided benefit and blue states top the list and red states made up most of the bottom 10.

Top 10 - Most dependent on government aid
1 New York
2 West Virginia
3 Rhode Island
4 Maine
5 Pennsylvania
6 Massachusetts
7 Vermont
8 Kentucky
9 Michigan
10 Connecticut

Bottom 10 - Least dependent on government aid
41 South Dakota
42 Nebraska
43 Wyoming
44 Idaho
45 Georgia
46 Texas
47 Nevada
48 Virginia
49 Colorado
50 Utah

Thank you for putting this phony issue to bed for once and for all.

Debunked? Where? Crop subsidies aren't welfare?

He's right, that Mother Jones article (MJ being one of the most liberal rags on the planet) has been disputed numerous times across the web. I was going to point out the old adage about Lies, damned lies and statistics, but gwb did a pretty good job of it.

As for crop subsidies being welfare, I suppose you could consider them - but since not every one who is poor can get them, it's a special kind of welfare. One could argue such subsidies help all the poor, in keeping prices down, etc.

Of course they are liberal, as no GOP outlet would admit to the hypocrisy. So you're stating that six-figure individual crop subs help the poor? Who benefits more? The farmer receiving the five to six figure subsidy or the poor mofo getting his loaf of bread $0.30 cheaper?

Where has it been debunked? Link plz. You're stating the IRS data is fraudulent, or what exactly? Citations would be nice. Anything. Apparently it's all over the web...

Please try harder.

Counting crop subsidy checks sent to corporations and wealthy individuals in blue states as "government money" sent to red states - certainly means the Mother Jones article is factually incorrect.

So let's get this straight - a corn farm in Kansas is owned by a wealthy individual who lives in New York. Somehow the crop subsidy check sent to the owner of this farm is counted as "money sent to a red state (Kansas)" according to Mother Jones. This is nonsense.

Most of the tobacco subsidies in North Carolina were sent to individuals who lived in the Northeast. This went on for decades until the "buyout" when even millions more was sent to the allotment holders.

Probably closer to $0.03 cheaper a loaf.

Some advice as you're extremely misguided. Choosing to align yourself with the party most closely associated with financial success isn't going to get you anywhere. Get an education and try to form a thought independent of your moronic party-line. And no, I am not a lib/democrat.

Your attempt to connect the Dems to the KKK is um, spurious. Critical thinking isn't your strong suit, but the paper would help you get a job (B.Sc.). Don't mention the KKK thing in any job interviews.

The suspenders, business attire and GOP BS have gotten you where, exactly? Selling your workstation to pay your bills? I know, you upgraded, right? We both know that's BS.

Where are the links debunking the IRS data? So the evil mofos with the crop subs are all Northern Dems? I'd like to sees that data toooooo!

I apologize for the abuse. It's like fish in a barrel.
