What I've seen of your posts in the P+R forum haven't been middle of the road, my friend. You're certainly not a deep progressive, but you do lean left - at least socially. You could be Libertarian, I suppose.

Flat tax
Single-payer healthcare (purely as an econ argument/underwriting of Medicare)
A limited social safety-net for individuals who would otherwise starve
Capital punishment
Pay for performance

I am against:

"For profit" Special Interest Groups (tobacco, oil, food, etc)
The Fed
The IRS (redundant, see flat tax pro)
Unions of all kinds; public and private
States' rights (State Constitutions (and amendments thereof) are retarded))
Immigration reform
Legalization of narcotics (excluding MJ)

I don't know how you would classify my political leanings, but I've never voted for a Democrat.

Besides clarification on your definition of a "limited safety net", you sound very much Libertarian. A few things you are against, though, that go against Libertarian beliefs: They (we) believe in strong state's rights, and legalization of drugs.

1. Your views on abortion?
2. Gay marriage?
3. Balancing the Federal Budget (does debt matter, and if so, how?)

Libertarians are social liberals, but fiscal conservatives.
