Humans throughout history have been trying to increase economic efficiency by enslaving others to have cheap labour. Well we have finally achieved it by enslaving machines!! And now that we have finally achieved enslaving others, we are afraid of it? LOL

Robocop was a nice movie. So was Starship Trooper. It's too bad people back then didn't understand the meaning behind the movies. Doubtful today's kids will even understand it anyways.

Can someone please explain the concept and logic of Guaranteed Basic Income? It always struck me as completely alien.
What to understand??! The gore was nice for its time, but now we got CGI, so waaay better and smoother gore, especially when rendering innocent civillians and big time apocalyptic scenes!

Sadly, kind of like 1984, Brave New World and Fahrenheit 451, three books I presented in school so many years ago. Same empty glare from most today as then unfortunately. "Knowledge is power" a later teacher who passed away taught us then.
It's simple. It's giving everybody a set amount of money regardless of his/her wealth, health, employment situation, creed, religion, or etc.. As long as you are a person, you get $$. You can put a minimum age requirement of 18+ but it's optional. That's it. The idea is to eliminate the government infrastructure and save welfare admin. cost and to improve self-confidence and personal dignity psychologically and hopefully that would encourage them to better themselves.
Pretty sure we're all better off after the invention of the combine, even the people who used to work in the fields!
Maybe, but where'd they go and what they do...to make a living? Avg IQ is 100, what can you do in an automated society when you're on the left of that bell curve? Or, only slight to the right?
