WallStreet - Money Never Sleeps - comments

Since you are obviously a Fox news watching idiot, just how would you know? :)

But let's get back on topic, I thought the movie was just plain boring. For those who are not in the industry it was probably hard to follow...

Where do I start with this one? Ok, have you ever watched and LISTENED to what the leftist bitch has to spew? I have, and it's sickening!

And if I'm going to watch news, it would be Fox hands down over msnbc ANY DAY! Fact is, I just don't watch much news these days, but when I do, yes it would be Fox.

Btw, what makes me an "idiot," as you so eloquently put it for watching something that isn't left wing lunacy?

Is calling names what the lefties do when someone doesn't believe in far out points of views?

You should see what the lefties do in private.

If they dont put down plastic sheets first, it takes days to clean up.

Quote from Rearden Metal:

I genuinely want to understand how normal people view the world.

When I look at the chick who played Gekko's daughter in Wall Street 2, all I can see, every single moment she's on the screen, is the following screaming statement: "Help! Please someone fix me! My hair needs to be about 30 times longer, and I must be immediately rushed in for extensive dermatological surgery! My short hair and mole infestation both combine to completely ruin my appearance… but I <i>could</i> be fixed with quality hair extensions and at least 20 to 30 surgical mole removals! As it stands I'm about a '5' who could be transformed into a '9' rather quickly if only I could learn how to properly groom myself!"

But if 'normal' people saw her the same way I did, she would have never made it onto the screen like that, right? Just as an actresses meant to play the part of a hot chick would never be sporting a unibrow and a bunch of open bleeding scabs all over her neck and chest. Or if she had snot dripping from her nose in every scene, nobody would overlook that, right? I just don't get how everyone else doesn't see the boy-short hair and disease-mark covered face & body to be just as bad as any of those other things. I really don't get it, but I would like to understand.

So did my review help you understand better? :)

How can Gekko have a daughter? He has a young boy named Rudy in Wall Street. The one who picked his nose and threw a strawberry at the lawyer...

Rudy died of a drug over dose. He had the daughter after Rudy. The daughter blamed her dad for his suicide.

Well, it definitely explains the boy-short hair. In my mind a hair-style like that caps a girl's hotness at a maximum level of '7' at best, but I guess that's just me. Maybe part of it is that any chick in her 20's who'd want to wear her hair that way is most likely either a penis-averse dyke or a feminist cunt.

I still don't understand how the 'normal mind' so easily overlooks/ignores moles as a crushing obstacle to beauty. Acne is temporary and not as noticeable, yet somehow people think pimples are uglier than moles? Ever since I was a kid, I just never understood that.

Well, I never said she was hot, I was simply trying to explain the casting choices.

BTW, I thought Carey Lowell was absolutely stunning with her short hair when she was a Bond girl back in the early 90's.

Ok, in her case maybe a hotness rating of '7.5' can be achieved without hair, but that's as high as I'll go. :p

True. I had to explain sub-prime, rating agencies, etc. to wifey.
The appearance by Sheen was too long and forced.
I did like the tension between Brolin and Douglas during the charity dinner scene. Otherwise, not bad, not great. I'm not convinced Lebouf was the best choice.

Didn't enjoy it. The script was filled with hollow platitudes and industry cliches most professionals would roll their eyes at. The notion Paulson fiercely opposed the bailout was garbage. Although they got it right bankers effectively put a gun to the economy's head. That Credit Default Swaps are 'a good idea in practice, but their execution needs work'. Execution has nothing to do with it. It's called letting banks fail and markets work. Overall, it felt like substance was passed over for glitzy one-liners and bs. Honestly, I thought a lot of the script was taken from ET. Most of the broader Gekko themes etched out in the flick were discussed here, ad naseum, before the movie came out. Especially the idea we recover, get one last bubble, and that's it. Which is true. Also, free energy being our most immediate salvation. That too, was kicked around here a lot.
