Almost didn't go that way either.
At the outset the Bushies were hostile to Wall Street. There are articles on it. Industrials/Corporate men got the positions - O'Neill Snow.
Seemed to change once Bolton got on as Chief of Staff. Some stuff I read suggested the concern was not so much us blowing (
) up but the Chinese. Paulson's been there 80+ times.I agree! And as stated earlier in this thread, GS has been able to spread their chronies across the board. Government, Financial Press, etc.,
Looks like GS has a put in place (are you surprised?), and can exerise at any time they feel fit.
