Wall Street Analysts are a hotbed of fake news- Goldman Sachs etc.

On the contrary, Wall Street analysts are typically subject matter experts on their coverage universe. I would pay close attention to the argument they lay out, and then determine if I agree or disagree with them.

It helps when you got access to their full research report instead of just the colesnotes headline and price target etc.

Also when you get the full report you can accept some of their assumptions and modify others. If an airline analyst has a Report that says the airline will fly at 92% capacity and assume $80 oil price for the year and your model assumes $60 Oil then it changes things in a big way. Still useful to you as you can agree with 1 part but disagree with another.
 
from my experience with GS, BOA, Citi reports they were very useful when i've been trading FI and stocks, sometimes there is a 'delay' after their call, sometimes it's just a bad call but i've learned a lot just reading these reports..
