Hydro, I don't think strictly daytrading is viable in this environment. The guys here who seem to be making some money are doing so primarily because they take their positions home for a 2-3 day swing. After accounting for commish and especially spreads, whatever you make in a 'decent' day like yesterday will dissapear in the following 2-3-4 days. There's just not enough momentum/follow-thru to make daytrading profitable any more.

Here is an update. I was net short and recently switched to net long. To me + or - about 700 is what I am willing to give to see what the hell is going on. I have a better feeling about my positions now even though I am doing a little worse. Also if anybody needs to get an adrenalive fix to wake up just get into ABRX small

Risk I have to politely disagree. I am trying to prove that you can make money not with just some one style but a combination. Like Bruce Lee says..... react.... Some days are better for day trading while others are better for holding. It is all a question of what stocks you are looking at. There is rediculous amounts of opportunities today in all directions. Just my 2 cents and point of view. I am an optimist by nature and through my results
I didn't say there were no opportunities. Of course there's always opportunity. The problem is what is the *COST* of that opportunity. My point is, that cost is much too high compared to any reward in strict daytrading where all positions are closed at EOD. Yes, in hindsight, there's always opportunity. But it just doesn't measure up to a decent risk/reward trading environment.
