I bet that if in the 1970's and 1980s you said that one day people would be getting real time quotes from anywhere they wanted and that any individual would be able to trade anywhere in the world using a computer and paying little to no commissions compared to to the hundreds one paid back just in the late 90's, you would be laughed at.


Just wait and see when trading becomes even more mainstream than it is now and that 6.5 hour trading days are a thing of the past.

many futures and and most forex markets are open 24 hrs. are globex staffing requirements for this beyond the normal call of duty? would letting NYSE or NASDAQ run 24 hrs make that much a difference?

i can tell you one: it would create a whole new breed of trader that is addicted to visine.

we are refering to equities which primarily trade in the US.
