Reagan didn't lose by millions of votes and have an average approval rating in the 30's his first term.
Reagan had a 56% approval rating when he was re elected.Trump is currently at 37% and has never been above 50.

When are you going to stop using approval rating as your holy grail of prediction. It really means nothing. Nixon had a 28% approval rating in 1972 on election night. He won 520 electoral votes. Your polls mean nothing.
No, he is not.Nixon was around 60 % when he was re-elected and his average approval rating as President was around 50%.Trumps average approval rating as President is in the 30's.

Nixon won because McGovern sucked as a candidate.
Unless the Democratic party can find a candidate that does not suck (and so far the answer is no) -- they are surely to lose in 2020.
