Vonage IPO

A tight stop in this stock is hickup.

I'm trying to figure out how this stock will work. Right now, the only people that can short this stock are the broker dealers. When this stock comes off the restricted list and is marginable will it immediately be reg SHO? Guesses? Fresh selling or a modest wave of buying? More curious than anything...

no, vonage was trying to get buyers for their IPO, and create demand in the aftermarket to take out the investment bankers who did the deal and their friends.

but of course that's abundantly clear, now. and, apparently, they're about as good at that as they are at keeping customers happy.
 
Agreed - I'd be looking to buy the dips and short the rallies. The rhetoric is so negative (and the fundamentals too - competing with bundled cable platforms) that any rallies will be met with solid selloffs which will then be met with rallies by the contrarians in the pack. Looks like ideal Fading territory.
 
It appears that some customers that participated in the directed-share program are balking at actually going through with paying for their allocated shares (that have dropped more than 30% since the IPO). And now because of errors VG committed they actually may get away with it. Also the lawsuits have started already ("materially false and misleading joint Registration Statement and Proxy-Prospectus")

What BS. Investors INVEST! They should keep their word. They did not do their due diligence, so they bought shares in something that is practically worthless, it's their GODDAMN CHOICE AND FAULT!
Anyways, none of my business... Just ironic how people rationalize their losses away and always try to find someone else to blame for their own woes. If VG went up after IPO, everyone would be lauding it, no matter what other bad/unethical stuff it or its CEO did.
 
HISTORY always give lessons for the future. I am amazed that even after the dotcom bubble of 2000 , in 2006 slick promotors can still launch IPO for money losing companies that have almost no chance for long term success.
 
What a sucker-play....

Any time the "little-guy" outsider is allowed in on an IPO, you have to at least raise your eyebrows. You think they are being charitable?

The good stuff is hoarded - what you get are the dregs nobody in-the-know wants.

Ummmm yeah - do YOU remember the big deal that was made about the lottery to assign shares??

It was a big deal because it's not common. It was actually an attempt by Sergey Brin and co to change business-as-usual. So - did you buy a lot of Vonage??
