Hey Elitists,

Has anyone had success using a variable moving average? I've been doing some research using it for position trading, and the results look quite promising. I would appreciate your sharing any experiences with this indicator. Thanks!

Tried to get it to work when it was first published, early nineties or late eighties I believe, no success; still like the concept ...
 
Moving averages are only useful in trending markets whichever kind you choose, obviously there are some that are more responsive than others but they still work the same way.
I've worked with EMA, VMA, SWMA, AMA, RMA ... and they all have their own little advantages and disadvantages. Try fooling around with them, you might find something that fits your strategy.
