The folks that run Time magazine have undergone quite a transformation since Time was something your dad subscribed to.
As the business model for print publication has died it has reinvented itself in the form of trade publications for liberal benefactors. Time mag, like the NYT, the LAT and the Chicago Tribune no longer make their money from subscriptions or sales but instead rely on contributions from liberal "donors" who then shape the editorial flavor of the publication to suit their agendas. You don't need large staffs of journalists for this purpose so many have been let go.
Time has adopted a particularly embittered outlook towards American and so they like to idolize those who seem best positioned to damage the country. You'll see Hillary on the front of Time very soon. The only people still reading Time magazine are hardcore leftists who, of course, really appreciate what Vlad had done to diminish the evil United States of America.
