VIX up 6% with SPX up 0.5% --- is this an intermediate top for the week?

so basically at 8:30 am est this morning 6/13/23...on the es....there was a 24 pts move....congrats to the ppl that made money on it. otherwise, it was a non eventful morning for the majority of investors out there.

Daily expiring index options are not new? And weekly expiring index options are also not a few years old? You sure others here mentioned that?

Any option expiring on the day you buy or sell it is a 0DTE. It could be an option that was created last week, last month, last year. That's the gist of what I understand of it. It is a new title to a phenomenon that was always inherent in the contract. Any option out there has to expire sometime. The day it does, they call it a 0dte option.

0DTE now are options that expire within the same trading day of their existence. Available to trade on market open and needs to be executed or left to expire by market close.

Maybe the term existed in the past for quarterlies ... for the day they expired. But they were not referred to as 0DTE weeks beforehand.

The day range is decaying.
This is no good for trading.

Volume is always decreasing towards the bull side.
Less people hedging their bets ...

Trading wise ...
There are opportunities,
Just use more leverage (hahaha)

Es made 10+ points right out of the box today.

Soon the ES is going to trade like ZN :D
