Vista = Windows ME.

To be fair I should also mention that I found vista to add little or nothing to my user experience, other than looking nicer, hence why most people bash it.

However, I don't think you earn the right to bash something unless you've tried it out... Reading what others think of a product in a review or forum then repeating what they say about it is pretty lame. I suspect most people who bash Vista, haven't used it.

I agree with you that most people bashing Vista have probably never really used it.

I havent for example, but I have see it in action and as usual with Microsoft you need a strong computer (CPU, Memory..) to make it run smoothly... otherwise its clever to have XP ;)

I was going to buy a laptop, it was nearly impossible to get XP on it... and I knew I will have to buy the top range laptop to get VISTA work good... so instead of doing this I made a test as I never used a MAC before... I bought a superb Macbook 13, I got a better OS : Leopard (Vista is visually closer to mac past OS Tiger) and I have a great design/user friendly interface

My macbook 13 (not even a pro version) is running better than my old laptop with XP (PC with dual processor with 2 GB ram...) and with 90% less bugs so no way I switch to VISTA :) :)

lol!!!!!!!! thanks for the laugh.

w7 won't be out until 2011, if that. and when it's out, it will initially be unstable as all ms o/s's since w3.1 have been, so you'd probably have to wait several months for sp1. by then vista will be as stable as xp is now and everyone will be saying don't bother buying w7, just get vista + sp4.

Ballmer has just announced:
Microsoft is releasing a beta version of Windows 7, which will be available for download beginning Friday.
