Vista and Multiple Monitors

Does anyone have an issue about running 4 monitors on Vista SP1 but using the same type of graphics cards - im looking at buying Dell XPS 630 using

Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Processor Q9400 (2.66GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 6MB L2 cache)

Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium SP1 - English
1GB ATI® Radeon® 3870 X2 graphics card
4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [4x1024]
1.2 TB (2x 640 GB) Serial ATA (7200 Rpm) Dual HDD Config Raid 0 Stripe
Blu-Ray RW Disc Drive (read/write CD/DVD/Blu-Ray Disc)


any comments?
 
I have biggest issues running two monitors under crappy Vista!

There are known issues with the ATI drivers, just google.

I'm on my way back to XP...

Ditto to that. I recently purchased a bunch of Dell Vostro's with VISTA installed on them and ATI radeon cards. It was impossible to make the things work with an additional PCI video card installed (also ATI radeons). VISTA would not allow the PCI-e and PCI video cards to function together.

Of course after 'downgrading' the machines back to XP, I had no issues running the two cards. I would never have had VISTA on the machines in the first place but for being forced by Dell to take them that way.

BOTTOM LINE.........VISTA SUCKS DONKEY BALLS!
 
Vista here also tries to kind of restart the ATI driver, which at the end leads to blue screens!!

I have Sierra running, which is really a very lean application...

Vista is an ongoing horror!
 
I run a dell xps 420 with vista using 2 -24 inch monitors... no problems at all after I replaced the ATI card.

gamers use multi-monitors too...
previous versions of ATI boards work ok.

the current problem has its roots in the chaos of the AMD/ATI merger.
