Anyone capture video of any market depth up to and right after the Swiss announcement? I'd be curious to see what it looks like in a black Swan event like that.

Does anyone think crude oil futures could ever spike like that?

yes this is something i want to see as well, that tingling thought in the back of my mind, can i end up in a losing side of a move like that. the only way i can think off right now is buying call and puts to hedge, but thats very expensive for daytrading.

1) ? .... Crude had a massive fluctuation at the start of the first Gulf War in 1991. It might have done the same thing when the price was above $120/barrel in 2008. :)
2) Crude oil has a $10 daily price limit. Swiss franc appears to have multiple limits. ;)
3) If you get "in a jam" like that, you might be able to lessen the damage if you can keep the presence of mind to trade an out-of-the-money option that hasn't locked limit. :eek:
