Did he close the trade himself or not. The thing that kills most small players is margin call, then you are done especially IB.
I thought he sold and went to work. I hope he doesn't work at a pizza parlour, maybe take the day off and try to figure out how not to lose it all in one day. In the old days a generous market maker could help keep you in the game. Question how would a prop firm handle this situation? at least he would have gotten some ideas.
