Video of a trader blow up Today, NSFW lol

The video is called "The stockmarket ruined my life". I feel for the guy, but the stockmarket didn't ruin his life, he did. It just shows you how people fail to take responsibility for their OWN trades.

Quote from sakimonohito:

humor? you don't think that all the traders on the other side of his trade aren't laughing it up thinking, "gee I am glad I finally started using a stop."

He'll get over it.
Even in a zero sum game, laughing at your own success is not quite the same as laughing at someone else's misery.

Some of you people should be ashamed of yourselves.

Finally, something both thunder dog and can agree on! Seriously, what kind of person finds humor in someone else's financial ruin?

Apparently the guy has a blog called "High Probability Trading".

This what he has to say:

-31k, Goodbye

Good Bye.........I hope you all have a nice life. I need to be to work in 2 hours, and I can't manage this position, I have to sell out. About 40k in 2 days,,,,,,,,,,,,gone. Speechless. One bad trade, is all it takes. 2 and a half years of trading thrown down the drain on 1 trade. Who would've thought the Futures would tank as much as -500pts on YM with the US markets closed. I didn't, and I never really wanted to be in this position, but I couldn't accept the small loss.

Go ahead and link me and show the world how much of an idiot I am. Leave the comments of how stupid a trade I put on.

Now is probably a good time to go long now that I sold out.

He doesn't deserve sympathy, but he doesn't deserve ridicule either. He's outlined his strategy as day trading, yet was willing to take on the risk of going long 10 cars over the three day weekend with the stock markets in a massive down trend.

He was willing to carry the risk and he's payed for it. He just learned a harsh lesson in trading: reward decreases as risk increases. Atleast he's mature enough to post about it.

lololololol..

I remember when I blew up my first FX account.. I was on over a gram of test a week and it wasn't pretty, very similar to this but with a lot more rage.

Great vid, thanks for posting!

I admit I don't quite understand his rationale for posting it. But you can view it as a public service to those who are starting to get a bit too arrogant for their own good. A cautionary tale.

Quote from Thunderdog:

See my post just preceding yours.

As for having been there, I lost a fair amount of my trading capital a number of years back and I remember what a miserable experience it was for me. No laughter then, and no laughter now. If you had been there, I would have thought you'd at least have a bit of empathy.

Empathy for being an undisciplined idiot? lol don't think so

I agree. But that doesn't necessarily make it funny, as some people here seem to think.
